The
Purloined Letter is an 1844 detective short story by Edgar Allan Poe. It is the third and final tale featuring master sleuth C. Auguste Dupin. In Paris, the police fail to find a stolen, blackmail-heavy letter. Dupin recovers it
by realizing the thief hid it openly in plain sight.Maybe there's a dozen of these all very well-hidden in DC and the CCP has let this one see the light of day as a distraction to draw attention away from all the others.
