Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly rejected President Donald Trump’s 15-point Gaza peace plan on Sunday, declaring that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the territory until Hamas has been “genuinely” disarmed.
“Israel rejects the 15-point document,” Netanyahu told a cabinet meeting, dealing another setback to the U.S.-backed effort to end the war in Gaza.

The Israeli military “will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and will continue to thwart threats against our forces and our citizens,” Netanyahu added.
In a post accompanying a clip of the formal announcement posted Monday, the Israeli leader wrote: “As long as I am Prime Minister, a Palestinian state will not arise – not in Gaza and not in the West Bank. Not Fatahstan and not Hamasstan.”
Netanyahu told his cabinet talks with U.S. officials were continuing despite his rejection of the document: “They have ideas; some of them are acceptable to us and some are not, and we know how to stand our ground on these matters,” he said.
Trump’s Board of Peace announced last month that an agreement had been reached for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza in what Trump hailed as a “monumental step toward lasting peace and security.”
Hamas has said surrendering its heavy weapons depends on Israel ending “all forms of aggression” and withdrawing its forces from the territory.
The competing demands have left the Trump administration’s plan facing a fundamental dispute over which side must act first.
Meanwhile, a Hamas official said Sunday that the group “reaffirms its commitment” to the agreement and was prepared “to engage seriously and responsibly in implementing” the 15-point proposal, according to the BBC. The official called on mediators to ensure “all parties” complied.
Nickolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace’s high representative for Gaza, defended the proposal on Sunday, saying Israel had been asked “to give the process a chance” and describing it as “the only way forward”.
Mladenov said the process was designed to be “verifiable” and “reversible,” and stressed that Israel would not be required to withdraw until Hamas could be verified as taking steps toward disarmament.

I think Netanyahu has been vitally important to saving Israel. I’ve personally heard Dem discussions by anti-Trump Jewish people I know, where they trashed Netanyahu and wanted his opponents to take over, ones who do not even fight for Israel’s right to exist and want peaceful solutions including a Palestinian state and Israeli disarmament. Part of the large proportion of American Jewish voters who do not factor in the problems of Israel as important or major to their thinking.
Every day October 7th massacres would happen if Netanyahu is gone.
since Hamas has said it won’t disarm until Israel withdraws, the Board of Peace geniuses will have to sort this one. also, don’t think Qatari/Turkey oversight will fly either as Erdogan regularly reminds us of his caliph’s desire to re-take Jerusalem. ahem.

No one in the news or on discussion panels goes back before the alleged “genocide” by Israel against the peace loving Hamas and other terrorists with their tear soaked handkerchiefs dabbing their eyes.
Reports verified about the Arab invasion on October 7th included eyes gouged out, women gang raped in front of children, babies murdered, people burned to death and the well known taking of hostages to be held, some dying from neglect and others finally killed, a few released.
Imagine that happening in your town or city as by BLM or others in the US. Would you be a nonviolent Quaker type then? Doubt it.

I don’t question Israel’s right defend itself or its right to seek revenge for the October 7 massacre.
That’s not, however, why WE entered into a war on Iran. The casus belli was an ill-defined imminent threat* of attack by Iran. That threat (real or not) was what Netanyahu used to elicit President Trump’s support and participation.
So yes, it was sparked by Netanyahu’s incitement.

Israel is capable of handling Gaza just fine on its own. They don't need our muscle. Iran is a different story, but we have our own reasons to keep them suppressed.

Iran’s had a nuclear program going back before President Trump’s first term. The reason that the Administration gave for our attack wasn’t that Iran had a nuclear program but that it had advanced to presenting an imminent threat.
