I'm working on St. Augustine in Latin right now--I hope that counts. He's a bit of a bear sometimes. But with AI helping out in a pinch we move along.

Part of reading is meditation. Also, growing up reading the right stuff doesn't hurt--with parents!

And if the brain plasticity for language acquisition is during ages 4-6 or so, that's when kids should be learning a second language.

Last verse of the Old Testament says something about the hearts of the fathers turned to the children and the hearts of the children turned to their fathers. There's a great line in the film by Andrei Tarkovsky, The Sacrifice where a child who has undergone throat surgery speaks his first words, "In the beginning was the Word, what is that, Papa?"

This is why emails sent to corporations, real estate agents, attorneys, administrative state agencies, judge's chambers to the judicial assistant's attention, law enforcement agencies, and other governmental outposts inevitably result in voicemail messages requesting a callback from me to explain to them on the phone just what is going on. Really. Not only do these $75,000 a year illiterate imbeciles not know how to read, they are incapable of composing a single sentence in English that is sufficiently cohesive to be read instead of spoken.

How many ways are there to spell "circling the drain"?
