That slaughter on October 7 went against everything Western Civ is supposed to stand for. If there is some belt tightening going on in a relatively well-off nation because of it, I don’t see the moral equivalence you would like to create.

It comes down to who was harmed.

Israel, as the ones who were attacked on October 7th, are justified in retaliating against Hamas.

Trying to leverage that event into justifying America's operations against Iran over two years after the fact (especially when Israel seems content to stay out of it so long as we're the ones fighting) is absurd.
