Ukraine was more or less an “agricultural state.” Huge in agra. But not so much in terms of industry. That was largely built by the Soviets.

The Soviets included the Ukrainians, and when the USSR split up, a lot of the brains were left inside Ukraine or moved to Ukraine. Ukraine now has the brains which are destroying Russia and whatever brains Russia had are being murdered by Putin in Ukraine.

BTW, don't be so dismissive of people who work in agriculture. Farms and agriculture are the most important industry for any nation. All the people of a country have to eat, and farmers feed them all. A country can do without all the technical stuff, but not without food. Duh!
