Say what you will about Tom Cruise, his Top Gun: Maverick was a perfect example of what a summer blockbuster should be. The movie stayed away from politics and PC nonsense and just told a good, solid, exciting story. What’s not to like? Hollywood just can’t seem to get out of their own way.

The ONLY issue I had with Top Gun Maverick was the WOKE makeup of the aviators. Meaning there was one Black guy, one Asian guy, One Hispanic female, etc.
The Asian guy seemed kind of light in the loafers too.
At least the main saviors/heros were the three white male aviators.

“ The movie stayed away from politics and PC nonsense and…”

Maverick? Not woke?

That’s just funny. I am laughing

Started with Jaws 50 years ago - Spielberg gave the audience what they wanted - a great, fun summer thriller, not beset by politics or woke casting - of course it was a different time, but you’d think they learn from that.

I remember standing in a loooong line to see Jaws in the hot sun - was definitely worth it and I re-watch it every 4th of July.

Moviegoers are sick of being lectured to about politics, race and other issues. Most of us love the escapism of movies.

And it looks like the latest Spider-man movie is exactly that.
