An Arizona grandmother who beat cancer twice was killed after a brutal attack by a career criminal, court papers revealed.
Susan Gehrke, 61, died from her injuries after being punched so hard her dentures were knocked out outside her apartment complex in Tucson last Friday.
Prosecutors in the state claim Dahseir Edward Jefferson, 27, lashed out at Gehrke after Jefferson attacked a friend of hers in what authorities said was a random act.

Random is a word they use to make us think that it could not be avoided. We, I say we to mean conservatives, believe in responsibility and they think we should be happy with accountability. Locking criminals up in prison is making them responsible, convicting them in court and releasing them is making them accountable. We also believe in deterrence because if someone can see the consequences of being held responsible they might think twice before committing a crime. Liberals feel sorry for people who get convicted of crimes and having to spend many years in prison.
I believe there is something deeper down about how liberals handle crime. I am cynical enough to believe that they want disorder so they can promise to fix it. They want us to go inside our houses and lock the doors. With social media, we can lock ourselves in our houses and then believe that we are able to change outcomes by making comments like this. That is how they can control us.
Before they started murdering people in the MD/DC/VA area, they practiced their "craft" in several other States. They left a long trail of blood.
The older piece of excrement is now dead; the Commonwealth of Virginia sent him on to his 72 virgins (yes, they were both black and mohammedan).
The younger piece of excrement is a permanent guest of the Commonwealth ... unless the current piece of excrement governor does something unusually evil even by her standards.
Pepper spray is not a magic potion, and may not behave the way one expects it to behave.
I recommend getting more than one can of whatever product, going to some place where nobody will get hurt, and spraying a target. Test the stuff. Learn how far it will go, what the spray pattern is like, what may happen when some of it gets blown in your direction (even gel and foam may have some free mist) ...
We moved around the country a lot growing up so I was more or less situationally aware without realizing until college that’s what it was called. Moving taught us, among many things, to size new people up quickly - to stay away from some people but others might become friends. I was always in protective mode. Still am.
I wonder if blacks have been victimized like this for years, but the perpetrators used to be afraid to attack whites so blatantly. Or, are more drugged out thugs being let out of jail too soon (i.e., while living)? Crime stats are deliberately limited so we can’t see the patterns.
Somehow we have to force the courts to sentence criminals to long terms and keep them in custody. There is a huge disconnect between the needs/desires of most of the People versus the “Criminal Justice System”.
Someone in prison will probably be using those lips, soon.
In my entire life, I only met 1 guy who was KKK affiliated. He was in my unit in the Army. Everyone, and I mean everyone; hated him.
All the arguments of what’s enough gun. Most say a pocket .380 isn’t enough.
I bet this woman would have loved to have a very concealable pocket .380.
She would very likely be here today if she did!

The only thing with that is... most of us put a higher value on our own human life than on the life of an approaching stranger that looks like they’re about to do something really, really bad to us. And many of us, if not most, do not trust approaching strangers for ‘some’ reason.
Had a black guy approach me one day, about ten years ago, while I was loading pet food into the trunk of my car. I saw him coming across the parking lot. When he got there, I let him know ‘nicely’ that it was a kind of dangerous thing to do what he had just done. He said he was a pastor looking for donations for his church. He didn’t test me and I didn’t draw on him... but I was ready if the need had arisen. Have no idea if he was what he said he was, but it didn’t really matter. Not bright to approach people in parking lots like that. Some might pre-emptively get the wrong idea and act on it.
In concealed carry training, you are instructed to tell any ‘approaching stranger’ to halt before they can get close to you. I didn’t do that, but I had my hand in my bag at the ready, just in case.
Given this murderer’s history of violent behavior, the charge should be for first degree murder.

No worries ... I actually followed my own advice (for the first time) a couple months ago. It was educational.
I remember the DC snipers and I also remember the initial fbi profile stating it was a lone white dude.
IIRC they stuck to that narrative right up until those two animals were caught.
I used to have a lot of books. My husband died and I had to move. I gave the really special ones away. Some to family and friends.
This one is one I talk about all the time when crazy stuff is happening all over the country.
Funny how well this book stuck in the minds of people who read it.

One lethal, two less than lethal.
I pray I never have to use any of it, but it’s there if I do.
