It isn't a popularity contest to thinking people, but there appears to be a shortage of them lately, and people are pushing the opinions of the non-thinking personnel and trying to convince others that those non-thinking people are correct in their opinion.
Being popular by making promises you cant keep may get you a stint as a mayor but takes a little more to be President. I mean Trump has won three times and half the country hates him with a white hot passion.
