Better publicity to say that you donated them to a museum, Library of Congress, etc. There might be additional benefit like a write off.

I think they should buy up all the crap like "The Scarlett Letter", "Tess of the d'Urbervilles", and "Wuthering Heights" then destroy them all. That way poor school children will never have to suffer through them ever again.
