My previous employer had bound books, maps, and individual pieces of paper. The company that scanned them left them intact. They were returned in the same condition they left. I had to keep inventory of the materials.
These guys don’t want to do that; and, it is their right to make that decision, and no real loss occurs. You can’t force someone to pay for storage for something they don’t want to keep.
