A book can be hidden or even destroyed. Information can always be withheld or corrupted regardless of the technology used to record it. The Bible didn't make it through the Catholic Church unscathed.
Hiding it yes, but in the case of digitizing, it can now be edited to say something subtly different and presented as source material.
The impact is significantly different and much more insideous.
2 personal examples.
1. Stars original movie, solo shoots first, re-edited to later show he did not shoot first, basic example of media being changed for a narrative. I have the original version saved on my movie server because to me it matters. I refuse to use streaming services for that very reason (amongst a few others)
2. I have original Hans Chrisitian Anderson works, those have been re-written for a woke narrative, my books cannot be changed, unlike the digital version where they can.
Keep in mind it is already hard enough to maintain the purity of original books, see the link below. Yes, digitizing them makes it many fold worse and we should be extremely cautious in destroying the source material.
