DSA are not national socialists It begins to look national when you consider:
- New York: DSA-backed candidates scored multiple primary wins in New York, including:
- Darializa Avila Chevalier defeated 5-term Rep. Adriano
- Espaillat in NY-12.
- Claire Valdez — won the open NY-7 seat vacated by Rep. Nydia Velázquez.
- Brad Lander, a former DSA member, defeated Rep. Dan Goldman in NY-10.
- Ten others won state legislative seats.
- Colorado: Melat Kiros defeated 30-year incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado's 1st Congressional District, 51% to 41%.
- Pennsylvania: Chris Rabb won the Democratic primary for Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District, succeeding Rep. Dwight Evans, with DSA, Working Families Party, and Justice Democrats support.
- DSA candidates won down-ballot primaries for state legislature in Oregon, Georgia, and Kentucky.
- Utah: DSA-aligned candidate Nate Blouin, backed by Bernie Sanders, ran but lost to former Rep. Ben McAdams.
- Maryland: DSA-coalition candidate Bobby Rappin lost his bid against Sen. Bill Ferguson.
- Washington, D.C.: Janeese Lewis George is leading in the mayoral general election as a democratic-socialist-aligned candidate.
New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Utah, Maryland, Oregon, Georgia, Kentucky, DC... It's beginning to look a bit national to me.
