Elon Musk is reviving his political operation to help Republicans defend their congressional majorities in an election year that has grown increasingly competitive.
Musk is reactivating America PAC, the super PAC that spent more than $260 million helping elect President Donald Trump in 2024, according to people familiar with the plans. The group will focus on door-knocking, digital advertising and direct mail to turn out conservative voters, including many who typically skip midterm elections.
Musk’s representatives have not disclosed a specific dollar figure for the 2026 effort, but given his 2024 spending, which made him the largest individual political donor in a single election cycle in American history, Republican operatives expect a substantial commitment.
The renewed investment gives the GOP a formidable new asset heading into November. GOP super PACs and committees already hold more than a $300 million cash advantage over their Democratic counterparts, a figure that does not include the $400 million sitting in Trump’s MAGA Inc. super PAC.
James Blair, Trump’s senior political adviser, welcomed the return of Musk’s operation. “America PAC was an essential partner for our historic GOTV operation in 2024, and their return for 2026 is a huge boost for Republicans across the country,” Blair said. “We will again outsmart our opponents and ruthlessly execute our mission for the GOP between now and Election Day.”
America PAC knocked on more than 10 million doors across swing states during the 2024 campaign. By concentrating on turnout operations again this cycle, the group will allow other Republican organizations to direct more of their spending toward television advertising, according to people close to the plans. Musk’s political adviser, Chris Young, will lead the effort, which is expected to coordinate closely with the rest of the party’s political infrastructure.
America PAC spokesperson Andrew Romeo said the group is ready to contribute again to what he described as a well built Republican operation. “The president’s political team and the rest of the GOP apparatus have built a top-notch operation that will put Republicans in a strong position to buck history and retain control of Congress this fall, and we’re excited to again be part of the team,” Romeo said.

I sure hope Elon has some good ideas to increase conservative turnout.
Thank goodness. We need it.
>America PAC knocked on more than 10 million doors
I got door-knocked by the DNC already. Ignored him, but the GOP have been pretty lazy on this front.
Confine it to purple and pink districts. Blue ones are lost.
Republicans going door-to-door have to worry a lot more about getting attacked compared to Democrats doing the same.
Dem meltdowns incoming.
great - that Gruters guy is no Lara Trump go-getter, imo. Musk is all about 24/7 around the clock get-the-project done.
Liberal 'elites' hate Musk as much as they hate Trump and MAGA. If dem/commies take over Musk will be one of the first arrested. Liberal 'elites' won't keep killers and rapists in prison but they WILL put their political opponents in prison - - or worse.
with the Spencer Pratt example, methods need updating to 21st century. here in LA/Cali knock knock on people’s computers/phones. Cali delivered 40% of its vote to Trump.
The dfl (Minnesota democrats) did here as well
“Oh I see you are packing. are you moving?”
Nope! We just back and unpack for fun! (on the inside)
Yes we are I reply
“What part of the state?”
750 miles past the state line
“Oh”
And they turned and left. Pounds of leftest mailers. 0 from republicans
Different areas require different approaches.
Door knocking in NYC as compared to rural PA are two different things.
The same is true for social media, sending me {or most boomers} a text, X post, or any kind of social media, is a total waste of time and money, and I know there are always exceptions, but ya gotta know your audience if you are doing any kind of mass media communications.
The GOP doesn’t have enough volunteers because conservatives have jobs.
A great move by Musk, if only for his own protection. Wealthy Republicans need to give as though their lives depend on it.
The GOP doesn’t have enough volunteers because conservatives have jobs.
The Left knows that and takes full advantage. Good people with successful careers and good families will not give that up, in order to get into the mud that is modern-day politics.
They can’t even be bothered to vote.
I don't blame him for doing it, I thank him:
i am a boomer - i am on X and Facebook somewhat. i caught all of Pratt’s ads. i am in L A and no way i would respond to a knock on my door unless it is LAPD LAFD friend or neighbor. and L A is HUUUUUUUUUGE. nor do i answer calls from unknown phone nos. which is why, yes, you have to layer your approach. you can’t presume to know what age group you might connect with in which mode.
Passing the SAVE ACT will go a long way towards cleaning up elections. Until that happens, any results will be tainted b/c of vote fraud.
I’m with Trump - “Only ‘cheating’ explains opposition to SAVE Act - including GOP holdouts.”
Exactly.
