Anniversary of notorious episode reminds of how tolerance is relative(Mary Jo Kopechne)

This past week was the 57th anniversary of the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, a young woman who somehow found herself in a cardriven by a drunk who just happened to be the brother of a dead president.

Most people born after 1980 really have no idea who she was, unless they have an interest in ancient pop culture.

Tragically, that is what Mary Jo, a Pennsylvania native, has become to so many: An asterisk in the larger narrative of the so-called “Lion of the Senate.”

To me, this pro-abortion womanizer was much more of a jackal, but I’m one of those heartless, unforgiving Catholics who believe in the death penalty for rapists and murderers. I digress.

Good read; Catholic woman calls out other Catholics and Dems for their contempt of conservatives but blind loyalty to their party.

I am surprised that the Kennedy dynasty seems to be fading out more quickly than I expected. No Kennedy holds office. Jack Schlossberg was a joke who crashed and burned; then name-adjacency couldn’t carry him over the finish line. And we see a lot more reassessments in both serious historical publications and in movies. John John, in particular, has been getting trashed ask reckless and stupid. But alas, the idea of the political dynasty has a stronger hold on American politics than before. We have to worry about Bushes, Clintons and now even Lindsey Graham’s family. People think nothing of putting a politician’s spouse in office if the politician dies. And we have political royalty who serves well into their 80s when they should be in the Alzheimer’s wing and whose illnesses get covered up like the death of Stalin. We are going in the wrong direction.

And fat Teddy walked away, dutifully re-elected by his loyal Massholes.

Platner was just more of the same from the communists. I happened upon the movie “Chappaquiddick” on TV. I watched, expecting to turn the channel assuming it would be a whitewash. It was not bad, it showed Ted Kennedy as the filthy, immoral scumbag he really was.

2019 was the 50th anniversary of the drowning. It wouda’ been a good time to pardon Sirhan Sirhan out of spite for the left. Trump could do it now as RFK Jr. is convinced he didn’t do it. Timing the drowning anniversary with RFK’s assassination would poke the false idea of Camelot in the eye for all to see.

” And we have political royalty who serves well into their 80s ...”

I’ve said for a long time, Americans really do desire royalty. Especially liberal women. They love the fantasy of being a princess and yearn to live it vicariously through a monarchy in this country.

I’m hoping that Trump’s legacy will include a strong, competent set of successors.

>> No Kennedy holds office.

Unless you count RFK Jr. Granted, that’s not an elected office.

Wasn’t one of the dickhead progeny some minor state senator or something?

As the writer of Hebrews reminds us, it was appointed for the so-called “Lyin’ Of The Senate” once to die... and then the judgment.

Same writer also reminds us that “...it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living GOD”.

Justice for Mary Jo WILL BE served. Trust GOD and count on it.

In the summer of 1970 I worked as an intern in Washington, D.C. One of my co-workers, a Catholic woman in her fifties said “In my eyes Senator Kennedy can do no wrong.” That quotation has stayed with me for 56 years and I think it expresses the thought of many liberals.

Is that an excuse for murder? He allowed the woman to die a horrible death because he didn’t want to be reported on as being drunk.

He was a fool.

The press at the time fawned over Ted - saying this was another Kennedy tragedy. Here was this good man with his life shaken up by the death of a stupid bimbo. Really, it’s hard to believe but the press was worse then than it is now.

Leftists tend to be weak minded, morally malleable, and willing slaves to zeitgeist groupthink. Everything about them shows this. Just look at the creeps they choose for their “heroes”.

Never look at this as accidental death due to drunk Teddy. The actions of the clan, in my opinion, was pure murder.
