A "committed jihadist", Bashir planned a terror attack on a defence base with the man who later went on a deadly knife rampage at a synagogue in Manchester in October 2025.
Bashir pleaded guilty to the preparation of terrorist acts with Jihad al Shamie last month.
The pair took a 10-hour roadtrip to carry out "hostile reconnaissance" on a Ministry of Defence facility in August last year, two months before al Shamie was shot dead by police while carrying out his terrorist attack at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue.
Today is the second day of the sentencing hearing at Manchester Crown Court.
The judge is due to sentence Bashir at around 10am. We'll bring you the latest here as his remarks are broadcast live from court.
