Accepting favorable polling while rejecting unfavorable data from the same outlet is a classic example of confirmation bias.

The anti-intellect, anti-logic wing of MAGA (certainly not all MAGA):

“CNN report, then: good.”

CNN report, now: bad.”

“Only believe Trump then, and now, on polling.”

“Trump say report from CNN then is good, I believe. If Trump now says polling is high in support for the Iran war (just not high gas prices) I believe him, but do not believe any reports from CNN now which shows the opposite!!!”
