Watching soccer is like watching a chess match with live pieces who occasionally fake injuries.

To be fair, though, ice hockey is the ‘other’ sport of northern Europe, and basketball is becoming the ‘other’ sport of southern Europe—and enough people worldwide (outside the Commonwealth) are fascinated by baseball. We can tip our hat to soccer every once in a while, knowing that other sports are taking the hearts of other countries.

John Denver would be 82 had he lived. He’d be very happy today.

$30k to spend here? Man that’s fascinating! Hope wr get it again in ‘38. Too bad Baron will still be too young.

Don’t think football will ever be popular in other countries, though. Europeans who want to see a bit of rough stuff already have rugby.
