No, not really.
Japan was heavily bombed AFTER the IJN was on the bottom of the ocean, extensive Japanese holdings in the Pacific had been conquered (at considerable cost), and after Japan had sustained 2.5 million casualties in her armed forces.
Obviously the air campaign from March-August 1945 was something of a last straw, but saying "bombing beat Japan, didn't it" is an exaggeration.
It was fortunate that Hirohito’s word carried the weight that it did, and nobody bumped him off before he gave his speech.
