The guy had an aortic tear. That’s ^ risk with Marfan Syndrome patients. So are aneurysms. Connective tissue disorder. My Brother has Marfan Syndrome. He’s 6’11”. Has had multiple aortic surgeries. Still alive. Father and sister also with Marfan. Both deceased. The guy most likely has undiagnosed Marfan Syndrome. Either way his basketball career is over.
Agree. The pics don’t get close enough. Longer than average finger length, thin head, wide wing span, thin body type. Risk of aortic dissection about 250 times more than average person.
He is very fortunate to have not been under high stress with high pressures in his aorta....he could have bled uncontrollably into his abdomen or chest cavity. I have seen a couple of those.(Older persons...not Marfans) Very discouraging. Can’t give blood or fluid fast enough.
I think you might be right about Marfans.
Yes-I thought they had a genetic test for that, so I expect he will get one now. But to me, the young man didn’t have the “look” of Marfan syndrome, but that could my ignorance in assuming it could be seen physically in all cases.
As for your brother, glad to hear he is being followed!
