The trailer for I Play Rocky, the Sylvester Stallone biopic about how Rocky was made, dropped today onto the Internets.
This looks as solid as they come. How Stallone wrote and starred in that movie is quite an inspirational tale and this looks like something that we need right now.
Go check it out!

I haven’t seen this, but I will. I know a lot of the story, and it is inspirational.
What I would like to comment about is the comparison with the platform the DSA put out yesterday. They want to give everything to everyone. In that environment that story would’ve never been made. Sly’s years of hard work would never have rewarded. They would consider him a sucker.
We’ve come full circle - from Rocky, to Creed, to now a movie about Sly Stallone who made Rocky.
Nothing new in Hollywood, I guess.
The DSA are a bunch of loonies.
Thanks.
“They would consider him a sucker.”
Maybe. More likely they’d consider him greedy and evil and take the money he earned.
They need to bring the original Rocky back to theaters.
There would be no motivation to tell the story. Sure, it could be written down and passed around. But there is no “reason” to make it into a full blown movie. Rocky would simply be the story told around the corner ash can fire pit.
I was hoping this was about the flying squirrel, but a Stallone biopic is good, too.
They ARE bringing the original Rocky to theaters November 7 for the 50th anniversary:

Tickets might first be available on Fandango before other outlets have them.

Most of the cable companies have it on the small screen more than once a week. It has become common place. Won’t sell the popcorn. But this new one is a better angle showing more a documentary and the story is the same of an underdog winning. Ending this one is going to be tough as it has to lead into already made films. Could be interesting,

I believe the studios wanted James Caan to play Rocky. I think he would have been great but can’t imagine anyone but Stallone. They just don’t make them like that anymore.

I wanna see Mamdani crash and burn so hard (along with that Seattle mayor) that the DSA agenda goes down in flames, and the ground sown with salt so that it never rises again.
(Oh who am I kidding, the people of New York City will still elect someone like him.)
Maverick (Top Gun) was the last time we went.
Thanks for the head-up on this.
