@JamesOKeefeIII

Regardless of what you think of him, this will always be one of the most powerful speeches in the history of the Senate.

Back in 2018 when this happened, friends of mine who were not political teared up after watching this.

There’s a reason they taught rhetoric in classical education. When done well it can move people and change minds and shape opinion. Lindsey Graham was good at it, that’s for sure, and it made him formidable. That’s why he was so polarizing. People loved him when he was on their side of the issue and hated him when he was on the other side — because they knew the power of his rhetoric could affect how things went down.

Senator Graham had a conniption fit during Brett Kavanaugh’s hearing, and promised, on record, during the hearing, to investigate who leaked Christine Blasey Ford’s letter that she had sent to Senator Diane Feinstein. Ford alleged in the letter that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her when they were in high school, but asked that her complaint be kept confidential. Graham never followed through on his promise, and we never heard another thing about it. The Senator had a habit of threatening, or proclaiming he was going to hold hearings to get to the bottom of this or that, but he usually never followed through with them. He was an empty bag.

That was a moment of great righteous anger. I was never a Lindsey fan, but that moved me and impressed me. It was one of the great confirmation speeches. Kavanaugh should have voted for the birthright case and stuck it to the Dems forever, but unfortunately he is too fair-minded to do that.

Sadly Graham was usually on the GOP Establishment’s side against conservatives.

It’s quite emphatic.

A speech of a lot of tough talk but no consequences. I thought they were going to go after Blase Ford for her perjury but nothing ever happened. Pretty weak of you ask me. Also during this speech the media keeps touting for Linda, when he is all fired up, he brags about voting to confirm Sotomayor and Kagan. Huge failure on that and one of hood biggest mistakes.

Precisely.

People were fainting at Barack Obama speeches and that guy had no substance other than socialist dogma from professors that never worked a real job in the entire life.

Lindsey Graham made firing off meaningless letters a thing, too.

He sucked as far as being a true conservative Pro-America politician. He’s dead and i have no empathy at all for all of the chaos and show boating he did while in his political positions. Granted he didn’t allow the pay-offs and grifting $ to be attributed to him personally but he never ever wanted for ANYTHING he ever wanted, either it was provided by the tax payer or lobbyist. RINO all the way.

In the afterlife he should be forced to fight in the front-lines of all the wars he cheered on safely from his lazyboy while he made himself rich.

He was a lifetime lawyer, a retired Colonel, and a powerful Senator who died in his 70s, how rich did he get?

He may not have been conservative enough for South Carolina but he was a heavyweight-one you needed on your side.

all the wars he cheered on safely from his lazyboy while he made himself rich.

All the reports yet published peg his estate around $1.4 million, i.e. not "rich" by any current standards; in fact the lowest figure for any long-timer in the Senate, and about average for an ordinary government grunt.

That says nothing about his politics, but a lot about his financial integrity, a great rarity in the Swamp.

“You guys should have shot them all in the head,” Graham said, per former DC police officer Michael Fanone’s book “Hold the Line: The Insurrection and One Cop’s Battle for America’s Soul,” which is set to publish on Oct. 11.

“We gave you guys guns, and you should have used them,” Graham added, per the book. “I don’t understand why that didn’t happen.”

I’ll remember poofer graham for this.
