I don't understand why Iran hasn't hit Israel yet.

If they were really being hurt, wouldn't they? Makes me think these are "symbolic" targets to nudge them back to the table.

“I don’t understand why Iran hasn’t hit Israel yet.”

If they restart a shooting war directly with Israel, Israel can resume hitting them with hundreds of accurate airstrikes per day. That is a proven capability, demonstrated only a short time ago.

Israeli airstrikes earlier this year killed most of the high ranking regime officials who were killed, while the USA targeted primarily Military and Defense Industrial Base targets.

Israel is likely to kill them personally, if they start up with them, and the Iranian regime has more than enough problems to deal with right now.

Really, this is probably time for the smart ones to take their money and make a run for it, while they still can.

Iran may be conserving missiles to hit the other Gulf States, as Saudi Arabia in particular is (with some justification) fearful of Iran or the Houthis hitting Saudi oil infrastructure. Iran knows this.

If Iran hits Israel, Israel will pound them (Iran) back, and go after what really counts, which is Iran’s refined oil products’ supply. Refined products are Iran’s most critical vulnerability that might be acceptable to hit. Trump, OTOH, is reluctant to “hurt the Iranian people”, and has not even threatened that option, even though crude shipments from Iran could be left almost untouched, so as not to lower global oil supply.

I should modify that one phrase to “and MAY go after what really counts”.

As we have seen with many a terrorist organization, Iran can regenerate “leadership” as fast as we can kill it off. (It’s sort of like trying to pull up dandelions that have already produced mature seed heads, or those darn weeds that shoot off those little torpedo shaped seeds when the parent plant is disturbed.)

However, taking out Iran’s refined products supply, starting with their distillation towers, is another matter. That’s MUCH harder to work from than having the present leaders blown to bits.

There is a huge misunderstanding of the radicals in Iran, by most people, including most FReepers and, it would seem, President Trump. They do not really understand the minds of true zealots. Hell, I don’t think they really even understand the words of Nathan Hale, anymore.
