Interesting. There’s a cutoff date coming up where the candidate cannot be replaced. NJ had that same issue and the NJ supreme court changed it. Gave us Lautenberg after the seat was ours.

Yep, I remember that. The court ruled that even though the deadline for replacing a candidate had passed, it wouldn't be fair if the Dems didn't have a candidate on the ballot, so they suspended state law and allowed former senator Lautenburg to replace Torricelli, who then went on to win in November to retain the seat for the Dems.
Utterly corrupt court and a clear indication going forward there are judges who will place their D party above the law.
