**No different besides the scale from brides who make everyone fly to Waikiki or Cancun, etc. for their wedding performances.**
In the late 1990’s both a niece and a nephew had their weddings in Hawaii. Their paternal grandparents were still alive with clear minds, but physically unable to attend. Other close kin (including my wife and I) couldn’t afford to attend.
Their (secondary) wedding receptions were held back home on the mainland. We went, although reluctantly.
A clear indication that the couple was entirely clueless about the nature of marriage.
