As the 250th anniversary of our declaring independence from British tyranny nears, what’s affirmed is that America is preordained to be the battleground between liberty and tyranny -- whatever the stripe.
ast Tuesday, there was a Broadway premiere of sorts. In New York City, elections revealed the Democrat Party’s future. Avowed socialists won with the backing of Zohran Mamdani and dollars from leftist NGOs. There’s no spinning it. Democrat grandees aren’t even trying. Bill Maher claims he’s open to voting for J.D. Vance or Marco Rubio in 2028 if the party is captured by socialists. Whacky James Carville loudly called out his party’s leftward lurch. He’s threatening to walk if socialists take over. Start walking, James, because generational change, in part, will do to your party what President Barack Obama claimed he wanted to do to America: transform it.
Oh, and don’t forget all those migrants who helped elect socialists in New York. Democrats asked for it.
A socialist Democrat Party guarantees continued conflicts at home. I saw a breakdown of who was supporting Mandami, and it wasn’t minorities for the most part, it was younger white voters.
There are several reasons for this, but at its core is loss of economic opportunity. As James himself said “It’s the economy, stupid.”
The U3 unemployment rate of about 4.4% hides the lack of real jobs. The U6 unemployment rate for young people is more like 14%-18%. Many young people are working part time, in the gig economy (Uber, Lift, DoorDash) or can’t find work at all.
Until both parties address the abysmal economic opportunities for young people (which is an international phenomenon) the DSA and its ilk will continue to grow and might take over the Democrat party (which has been targeted by communists for decades).
As Trump is attacking exil overseas, our home front is crumbling.

I don’t think they are doing gig work either, at least where I live. I go to Walmart and I see middle eastern men walking around looking and pulling shopping carts as they fill them apparently based on what they see on the screen. I surmise that they are shopping for people who want their groceries delivered to them rather than going to the store and buying them for themselves. If younger Americans were doing gigs, wouldn’t we see them instead of hundreds of middle eastern men?
Part of the problem with young people who want to get ahead, they don’t know how. They think they can get a $7.00 coffee every day and pay $30 to have Uber drive them around to the clubs where they drink multiple $15.00 cocktails. And this is after they had their McDonalds delivered. They are using the gigs powered by immigrants and complaining that they can’t afford a house and then they vote for Mamdani.
I see people at Whole Foods all the time with bags of groceries they are delivering in their own cars.
Most of these people are black.
I eat lunch there all the time because you can still get a huge slice of pizza for $4.23. That’s a cheap lunch that’s my main meal of the day.
