Obviously, the U.S. would never adopt the Soviet approach. However, what the Soviet’s response reveals is that in any negotiations with Iran, there can be no quarter.
here’s an old tale about a farmer who recognized there was only one way to deal with his donkey. He had to strike it twice on the head with a two-by-four—the first time simply to gain its attention, the second to get it to listen to what he had to say.
Not to trigger animal rights activists by relating this tale, it is shared simply to underscore the more serious problem of how to negotiate a meaningful deal with Iran’s mullahs who are predisposed not to submit to the West.
The singularly critical issue of the talks is how do we get them successfully to comply with terms of a deal when they have no history of honoring compliance? We face the same problem the farmer did in gaining the attention of an ass to make it toe the line.
The negotiations between Iran and the U.S. under the administration of President Barack Obama, ending in the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), were significantly flawed—both in the terms of the agreement itself and the negotiating tactics to get it.
As to the first issue, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies—a nonpartisan institute focusing on national security and foreign policy—identified several flawed JCPOA terms/non-terms including: no sanction against a nuclear development program; setting preset expiration dates by which certain restrictions were to be lifted; ultimately allowing weapons development; no IAEA investigation mandate to determine the extent of any existing weaponization and missile-delivery research/development and if such activities had ceased; no ratification of the IAEA Protocol, joined by 141 other countries, providing the international agency with more extensive inspection rights

How do you get their attention?
HMX
Uh, having to wait for marching orders from a gayatollah got the whole Muslim world’s attention. Having a MAGA President helps.
The chinese are pretty good at controlling their muslims also.
never forget soon after the iranians took over the American embassy in 1979 they reportedly kidnapped a few Soviets and made demands for their return....the way the story went the Soviets then kidnapped relatives of mullah leaders and would cut off finger and ears, send them back to the mullahs with the pictures of the relatives missing fingers or ears and notes that said, “We’ll keep cutting body pieces off until you return our citizens”....
the kidnapped Soviets were soon released...
There is no downside of death in Islam. Death in battle you’re a martyr with rewards. Successful slaughter of infidels you’re a hero with rewards. Civilizations should come together to eliminate pre-meditating, misogynist, mentally ill, murdering MoFo’s.
By letting them know will not negotiate. We will come for what you love and make you watch it suffer if you touch ours.
Capture a couple of their leaders and send their testicles to Tehran and they know that those martyrs cannot enter paradise and they will be next.
I was gonna say, the Chicoms know how to deal with islamofascists.
Because of the War Power Resolution and the Congress of chickens, it will have to be Israel that deals with Iran.
Israel can use drones to take out refineries and nitric acid plants in Ukrainian style.
As the TDS people say, Iran is a big country.
You get it!
There is no "moderate" Islam. The evil and violence we've see from Islam for 1400 years and counting - is Islam. Their Koran teaches that murdering, enslaving, raping and subjugating non-Muslims is Allah's will.
In modern terms, Islam is a terrorist organization. Until it and it's adherents are designated and treated as such - nations and people will continue to suffer violence and atrocity from Islam.
They believe, maybe thanks to CNN et al, that Trump needs an agreement more than they do. They know he isn’t going to invade. They believe his political support is weak. They believe they can outwait him. Maybe he loses power in 6 months, for sure he is gone in at most two years.
In short they have taken his measure and have lost their fear of him. He needs to do something to reestablish that fear or they have already won.
We would be wise to deal with Islamist as we did Nazis.
Following the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945, the Allied powers and the subsequent West German government implemented a comprehensive legal and structural process to dismantle the Nazi apparatus and criminalize its ideology. This process, known as Entnazifizierung (Denazification), was designed to purge German society, culture, the press, the economy, the judiciary, and politics of any remnants of National Socialism.
This is how you get their attention.

Everyone watch that and stop getting your panties in a wad about harsh language.
So, silly question, have you heard of the veto?
Osama-how do we know he was killed? I never believed that buried at sea line. I was hoping they would shoot him up with female hormones and do a sex change on him. Take a pic and show it world-wide. That would be better than the bullet tipped with pigs blood.
We don’t know. I wouldn’t believe Obama as far as I could throw Big Mike. But Seal Team members said they shot him. I trust them.
For anyone who knows anything about the founding of Islam, this is pretty much how the demon got Mohammed’s attention as well. It’s cultural.
Good for the Soviets, but notice they are not still around.
