Did anyone watch the video?
What I saw was belligerent mouthy white trash that laid hands on officers. If one of them had touched me in that manner, they would have been slammed face down with cuffs on before they could scream “ACAB!” The really sad thing is that had that video been from the US and it showed mouthy ghetto mommas doing the same thing most people would be applauding the LEO for taking the trash out the way it deserved.
I’m not saying that LEO couldn’t be wrong here; none of us has the full context. What I’m pointing out is that that kind of behavior will elicit that type of response. That is doubly true when you are facing a force as compromised as the English constabulary.
You can’t act like an a-hole, then cry victim when people react to your behavior.
One of the English schoolgirls evidently pushed an officer. Maybe it was in response to something the cop did off-camera. Maybe the girl is just a brat.
But here’s the thing. The police response was in no way proportional. There are many videos on YouTube showing American cops exhibiting amazing self-control, even when dealing with violent suspects. Just enough force to get the job done.
I suppose this is due in large part to training, and the use of body cams. Body cams keep everyone accountable. In the US, at least.
