Some within the Democrat Party are reportedly worried investigations into California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) may hurt his possible run for the presidency in 2028.
The concerns center on the fact that Newsom’s image could become marred even before he chooses to enter the race, allowing Republicans to use allegations and news of the investigations against him, the Hill reported Thursday.
“There’s not one candidate who wants to enter what will inevitably be a brutal primary campaign cycle with that chain around their necks,” a Democrat strategist told the outlet.

I read that this really started years ago, with money that came from a ‘non-profit’ to buy a second house for 9 million, that they paid cash for. The money is related to his wife’s non-profit, and the experts say they absolutely had no way to come up with over 9 million in cash to pay for the house at the time. This investigation started under Joe Biden’s DOJ. The Democrats don’t care that the ‘non-profits’ and NGO’s are just crooked, and FedGov support should probably be ended, nor do they care that they have people stealing from them.
Newsome will simply reputedly declare himself a victim of a Trump attack and use that to raise money.
Given how they did with a California rat in 2024, color me skeptical that “democrats” are actually concerned they may not be able to run another one in 2028.
Well, Kamala is still available, as is Hillary and Biden.

I would bet it started under Biden as a way of stopping him from running against Harris.
One reason Americans hate politics is when creeps like Newsom pretend they “might” be running and are “possibly” considering running. We all know he’s been running all along.

Good one! I may have missed it, but I’ve heard no commentators questioning the emotional fitness of a candidate who directly addresses his wife in a public statement. Not just your average phony. He’s certainly stupid enough to run. Of course, that criteria would fit just about every Dem.
Right. it’s not the probe that would hurt, but rather what the probe would reveal.
