Why not simply use an all-purpose word that would apply to any sport?

Like: "...after he hung us his JOCK STRAP?"

If it were that easy. In the US the term jockey strap is lessened to just a jock. In the UK the Brits call a Scottish person a jock. Might be able to close in on a good term by just calling them thugs.

But that opens up a whole new area of possibilities as the Brits use a number of different words for that:

Lad, Lout, Yobs, Tearaways, Hooligans and Hardmen.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just not allow British news people to comment and try to sound like the US vernacular? No new is...
