From what little I could tell, it appeared to be about a 10-12 foot great white shark.

Pretty accurate assessment from what I can see. It's almost certainly a GWS in those waters and the body/head/pectoral fins shape pretty much confirms it. That area is within the infamous “Red Triangle” that is noted for a higher than average number of GWS attacks.
