Those racists who failed to see that Karmelo Anthony was led astray by the same culture and racist delusions they embrace are not worth throwing away the unity we've been blessed with among those who turned away from the divisive and hateful Democrats / left. No broad brushes, please. There are plenty of ‘woke’ whites who would also march to protest the Karmelo Anthony verdict, and they are part of the same delusional people who threaten the ongoing existence of America - the nation that fought a war in which ~750,000 died in part to stop the existence of slavery.
I was a very young white kid, living in a mixed neighborhood in which racial shifts were ongoing. I remember an incredible black man who had just moved his family into the neighborhood - in part to get away from the crime of the worse neighborhoods. He would come home from work each day and play catch with me and my friend who lived nearby (also white) and was a very wonderful person. That neighborhood fell - from white exodus, rapid racial shifts, and the eventual presence of the violence he tried to get his family away from. He was part of the solution, not the problem.
With a possible very rare expectation of posters at FR I do not see anyone disagreeing with the sentiment of your post.
That being said it misses the point, no one is saying individual can’t be good. This is about the collective which objectively poses a much higher risk of violence, specifically because of their proclivity for racial hatred, than other demographics.
The truth is the risk has become significant enough that it is unwise to treat the average individual in the aforementioned demographics without serious due caution
But advice i'm seeing in a lot of comments on other sites is "Be Wary of any black person whom you do not personally know."
The bad ones don't always wear uniforms so you can't always tell which is which.
I used to agree with everything you wrote. But a few years ago, a black guy I thought was a friend, who I went to church with, who I had prayed together with many times, accused me of being a racist the first time I disagreed with him.
I no longer trust blacks. I hate writing that, but he hid his anti-white racism from me for 3 years! I was fooled. I’m retired. I don’t spend much time around strangers. I can choose who I call friend. I have Hispanic friends. My wife is not white. I treat all strangers politely if possible. I want to live the rest of my life in peace. But I don’t want to invest time and effort into making friends with a black man anymore. They are 5% of Arizona’s population. I’ll try to find friends among the other 95%. Hate to admit it but I don’t want to be burned again.
How do you square that with the fact that upwards of 95% of the votes in black precincts were for Mike Nifong?
From Durham Wonderland =>
African-American precincts featured a wholly racialized voting pattern, in which Nifong appears to have received upwards of 95 percent of the black vote.
In eight precincts, African-Americans are more than 90 percent of the electorate. Nifong carried all eight, receiving between 91.2 percent and 96.0 percent.
