A record-breaking comeback, capped off by what could go down as a legendary play. The long road back to the top of the NBA is almost complete for the New York Knicks, and the step they took Wednesday night was unforgettable.
The Knicks came back from 29 points down and moved to the brink of their first championship since 1973 by beating the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 on OG Anunoby's tip-in with 1.2 seconds remaining. "That has to be the most iconic shot in the history of New York basketball," Knicks coach Mike Brown said.
It's certainly high on the list -- as high as Anunoby leaped when Jalen Brunson's long 3-point shot bounced on the front of the rim, with his right hand stretching high to softly flick it in. "Right hand from God," Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns said.

It's kind of sad normal people can't afford tickets anymore.
But the ones that were there the most were: Woody Allen, Spike Lee, and Peter Falk.
Spike Lee was there tonight. But Woody Allen is supposedly banned by James Dolan because he wouldn't promote MSG. That's really messed up. Say what you want about Allen, but he's a diehard Knicks fan.
I wondered if Woody made it this ime.
Adam Silver and the powers to be in the NBA will be more than happy to see the Knicks win it all, I don’t know how the Spurs overcome a meltdown like what just happened.
Over time, I’ve changed my mind on ticket prices and that average fans can’t afford to attend games anymore, watching the games with friends, with your own food and bathrooms is far cheaper, more fun and a better option.
Let the NBA, NFL, MLB and other professional sports owners charge whatever they want, right now it’s not an issue, if it ever becomes an issue then things will change.
I’m more concerned with the trend of games going to streaming services than the price of tickets.
No, it's pretty clear that Silver will do anything to get the Spurs to win. And he is creating a monster, because Wemby knows he can get away with anything.
I mean, next time he could run over the opponents with a Zamboni, and not get a T. (The Rangers play there too.)
Why should they?
And the Knicks are coached by the best coach in the league. Mike Brown was the real coach of the Warriors for five titles, while the DEI coach was taking credit.
I went once. Took my youngest son. He's 55 now. This was back when Patrick Ewing, John Stark, Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason and others were playing. The game was Sunday April 26, 1995. He wanted to see Shaquille O'Neal play. They were playing the Orlando Magic. We drove to Tarrytown Friday, stayed overnight there, then took the train to the city on Saturday. That same day, we took the ferry to Ellis Island. It's where my father, 8 years old at the time, was processed with the rest of the family in 1913. They came from Holland.
Great you had that experience with your song, and especially Ellis Island.
I saw those players too. You missed by one year Mark Jackson, who was later the only coach in Warriors history to improve the record three years in a row. But he was fired for being Christian and black.
We watched the game tonight. When I saw the Spurs were so far ahead in the second quarter, I said to my son: “It’ll take a miracle for them to catch up. Voila!! A miracle!!
Well kudos to Taylor for knowing how to milk that and brand it LoL:
you have to respect those father/son dynasties like the Brunson dynasty.
Yeah, Doyle and Todd Brunson are a classic.
Pop stars they will come and they will go...
Thunder only happens when it rayayans
The only draft I ever attended was an NBA draft. When the Knicks’ turn came, the crowd chanted we want Jackson while the Knicks mulled things over. Concerned, the crowd escalated to we want Mark, while the Knicks dithered. The crowd went nuclear, don’t f*** up, and the Knicks pulled the trigger for Jackson. For a short guy who didn’t jump, he had an uncommon ability to get his shot off in traffic.
Pretty fishy comeback, if you ask me.
Knicks got lucky in game two…..now game three looks rigged.
