I used CPAP for years. Then I lost a little weight and my snoring got somewhat better. Now I use a boil and bite mouth guard with good results. No more CPAP!
I had sleep apnea too, mine resolved completely when I lost 50 lbs. The weight loss also fixed my reflux and BP, but I still don’t eat past 7, and keep the head of my bed raised 6”.
None of this was mentioned when I was diagnosed
But CNS sleep apnea is a different animal.
My wife used a CPAP machine for a while but hated it and quit using it at all. Eventually she lost quite a bit of weight and the sleep apnea went away almost entirely. Still snores a bit but nothing like before, and those long (or at least they seemed to last forever) pauses are gone.
Same. Use a mouth guard from a sporting goods store.
I don’t believe anything my doctor tell me now.
Well, I do trust, but verify.
I discovered completely by accident (literally - I dropped my bicycle and road rash required me to sleep on my left side) that all I needed was a wedge pillow. I had tried CPAP and 2 mouth guards with little success. Sleeping on my left side on the wedge completely cured my sleep apnea.
That’s awesome
