This one store sells enough to have 1800 cases on hand?
I also found that odd. Most retailers only have limited space to store perishable merchandise in. Seems like a vendor with that much liquor on hand would do more to verify the customer. A customer you never dealt with before wants an enormous amount of liquor? Then he should be able to identify himself quite fully, and one would expect him to bring his own men to help load the large order. That doesn’t sound like a spontaneous purchase. Maybe the cashier was your classic rookie, naive and unsuspecting.

It was a distributor's warehouse.
Poorly written story, appears to be a warehouse. Question, what other stories does the press get wrong? π€π€π€π€
Itβs was a warehouse not a retail store. In Pennsylvania, all retail sales of wine and liquor are through state owned stores. Yes, it sucks.
