Lighten up Francis, I resemble that remark. Being stuck behind enemy lines in NJ doesn't make me a Nazi by default. My father killed Nazi's in Africa and I'm kinda proud of that. ;-)
Ha. My uncle drove a tank in N Africa. He’d regaled me with stories. I especially like the one where he ran his tank over forty Germans trapped in a trench.
Maybe your father and my uncle knew each other?!
So when I arrived in Charleston a neighbor threw a cocktail party in my honor. We became friends. He taught theology and philosophy at Montclair College in your state as well as here at the College of Charleston (40 years). He was also the New York adjutant for the Sons of the Confederacy. He asked his students at both schools would they die for their country. Students at both schools raised their hands. He also asked his students if they would die for their state. Nearly all hands were raised by his Charleston students. When he asked his Montclair students the same question they laughed. What does this tell you?
