use to shame the daughter saying, ok, say that again without using the word LIKE.
It broke her of that stupid verbal filler word.

Good parenting. Speech peppered with “like” and “you know” is very annoying and detracts from what the person is trying to say.

I was at a local city council meeting regarding the airport and possible changes. A young 20 something kid was trying to share his opinion on the situation and every other word he said was “like”.
I raised my hand and said, “can you say that again without saying the like?”
He almost fell in the floor!!
