OKLAHOMA CITY -- Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs started the Western Conference finals with a win in Oklahoma City, then ended the series the same way.
The defending champions are dethroned. Wembanyama and the Spurs are headed to the NBA Finals.

Between the ever-changing salary cap rules and the increase in injuries, it is becoming tougher to return to the NBA Finals, let along win it twice in a row. The last time a team returned to the NBA Finals after having played in it the year before was 2019.

Hasn’t been any trouble the other times the Spurs won the title, but it’s been a while since the last one and SA has definitely gone downhill during that time.

22 years old, goes to a monastery for 10 days in the preseason to mediate and purge. His mind is right. He could easily play another 15 years. Agreed, he COULD be the GOAT, although it is early of course.

“Luck” had little to do with it, at least in Robinson’s case.
The deal was done, the Spurs were going to Memphis if they didn’t get Robinson. The NBA wasn’t keen on that idea, yet.

He’s a great player and great person. Very likable.
Didn’t know him before I started watching this series and he impressed me both with his play and demeanor, especially being so young.
