If the local gas station has a 10,000 gal tank filled on Tuesday and the global oil price goes up that night, they race to their sign to up the price per gallon Wednesday on the stuff they just took delivery on.
But if the world oil price per barrel takes a sudden drop, well, it could be awhile before that gas price sign changes.
