Maybe it was the old reprint book from the airport gift shop:
Bring ‘Em Back Alive by Frank Buck. Made it safely out of Chicago, clutching the book.

Still laughing as I type.
I will have airport anxiety dreams tonight

IAD is the worst airport I’ve ever changed planes in. A lot of up and down stairs/escalators to traverse the airport. The architect needs a singapore style caning.

The New Age version of Rhapsody in Blue playing on the 2 mile long moving walkway.
I got picked up by the police when I flew into O'Hare from Canada. After all that travel time, I wanted to walk to terminal 1 from the International Terminal. I could find no sidewalk, so I walked the road. The police did NOT like that. I asked them how CAN one walk from the International Terminal to Terminal 1? They told me there was no legal way to do it. Sheesh!
