I liked this one:

Of course, the downside is you live the rest of your short, pathetic life looking over your shoulder...:)

My wife would have said no to that proposal. She’s not big on practical jokes, but she is sweet.

Much cheaper than hiring a skywriting airplane or a banner towing one. And gps on farm tractors makes it easy to till some dirt to write a message.

Back in early ‘75 I flew a buddy over his girlfriend’s family farm in a Piper Tripacer (high wing bird). He had called up to tell her we would fly over her place at a certain time.

We buzzed once to confirm our arrival, then slowed up to landing approach speed. He forced the door open enough to drop a brick in the nearby pasture, with the proposal note secured tightly to too it.

The pasture was recently mowed, therefore he was sure she’d have no problem seeing where it landed.

When we got back to his place he called her up. He asked,”well?” She said, “that was so cool, you guys flying by like that! But wants up with dropping a brick out of the plane?”

Apparently the note was not secure enough. She only found the brick. So he just proposed over the phone, and she said “yes”.

“But whats’ up with dropping a brick out of the plane?”

LOL...great story. I can just picture the quizzical look on her face picking up that brick! “Huh???”

I tried to think of a unique proposal, but it ended up being unexpectedly sudden. I was smitten on the first date, and 5 months later had the ring ready, but held it for a week while trying assure myself that she would say yes.

That week I saw her twice, and was not my talkative self. She was not smiling as much either. The third time I saw her that week, I took her to a restaurant. We both were silent as we drove there.

Walking across the parking lot, I stopped her and simply blurted out, “Michelle, will you marry me?”

She was speechless, her eyes wide open, and I quickly said, “The ring is in the car.”

We got in the car, she excitedly tried it on, and it fit. I said, “You haven’t said ‘yes’ yet!”

She replied: “YES!”

Hahahaha my wife would be white-knuckled in a small plane.

Well, that isn’t completely fair. I surprised her with a glider ride on one of our early anniversaries, and she did go up...but the older version of my wife would NEVER go up in a glider!!!
