Well, I am going to sound racist here, but if you were to ask, black waiters and bar tenders, what race tips the most, and which the least, THEY will say that blacks tip the least, in fact frequestly they don’t tip. So, I suspect that this was a huge party, and the tip was not included in the bill and they stiffed the waiter.
But nobody’s black! Lol!

It’s not racist if it’s true, and black people have an earned reputation as not only being lousy tippers or not tipping at all but also complaining about food or service to get their meal discounted or completely free.
I’ve seen it more times than I can remember.
About 10 years ago we had a seafood restaurant in the area that also had a proper oyster bar.
Behind the bar there was a sign that said “a mandatory 15% gratuity will be automatically added to all bills”.
When I asked the server about it he said it didn’t apply to us but they had to do that because a “certain ethnicity” refused to tip.
On that occasion and subsequent visits I always made a point of making note of who was sitting at the oyster bar.......guess who it NEVER was.
