I fear that Trump has gone “a bridge too far”. Wrecking Iran’s nuclear sites was a good idea. But how can he force them to give up all their nuclear material?

Religious fanatics won’t be moved by just bombing. So it would probably take infantry, and the related casualties. Most Americans would not stand for it.

Trump assumed the Iranian people would have overthrown the Mullahs themselves.

It’s never a good strategy to assume the people will rise up.

Said infantry would have to be Iranian. Three things need to happen there:

• Deplete the IRGC/Basij/Quds enforcers,
• Cut off land transportation for Iranian resupply in addition to the blockade.
• Selected people within Iran must be armed and supplied,

I don't see it happening. That concerns me.

You’re right.

If Trump follows through with his threats to turn Iran into a parking lot, he’ll be branded a bloodthirsty warmonger.

If he throws up his hands, says “to hell with this mess” and leaves, it’s TACO.

And if he maintains the status quo it leaves many wondering if he really has a plan at all.

Personally, as a Trumpist I’d like to believe that he knows exactly what he’s doing, but with November drawing closer and prices surging at the pump and meat counter I’ll confess I’m beginning to wonder.
