NEVER use one of the worlds best sources of food (and caloric energy) to power vehicles. Period. Not to mention, it takes like 100 gallons of water to produce one gallon of Ethanol

100 gallons of water to make one gallon of ethanol.

It takes one gallon of water to take the ethanol out of five gallons of gasoline

Plus you put more energy into the entire cycle (growing, fertilizing, harvesting, drying, transporting, processing crops) than you get out at the end. Far more.

But it makes liberals FEEL so good and that’s all that matters.

Both biofuels and petroleum are renewable resources. They are both carbon based biofuels, technically. The only different (and it’s a big one) is that it takes tens of thousands to millions of years for the earth to convert life/hydrocarbons into coal, crude, and natural gas. With biofuels, we still have to expend energy to convert to energy, whereas with “fossil fuels” the energy is created by time and pressure.

Too late. How we gonna win Iowa by taking away the subsidies? Trump stood up for it when campaigning but the truth is it should be discontinued over a 5 year period. Who’s gonna tell them that? Wait until 2029. Grassley’s replaced and their other(hot/elected)senator squeals against it for cover. It’s a game my friends.

And the fertilizer needed to grow corn comes from - natural gas and oil!

The corn grown for ethanol is inedible for humans. Cows can eat it and the leftover grain after the ethanol conversion process can be fed to cows.
