Describing the city as a 'very homogenous place by national standards', Howison noted that New Ulm trails behind state and national averages for its diversity.
'They’re somewhat out of step with the larger demographic trends,' Howison said.

I grew up in small community in Orlando that was built for Martim Marietta (now called Lockheed Martin) employees coming to the state. The area is called Pine Hills but has been known as Crime Hills for 35 years. It was an awesome place to grow up. Idyllic even. City leaders in the 60s vowed to make the west side of Orlando the poor, crime ridden area of town and they did. And Disney coming in brought lots of “diversity” which made things worse. So now most of Orlando is dangerous if you aren’t aware of the no go zones.
Don’t be stupid nor virtue signaling suicidal levels
Yea of Vermont lecturing us in high minority high crime high dysfunction areas
That’s rich
You should stick to observing the lefties and atheists who dominate and opining on maple syrup
My hometown went from 25% black to 85% and it’s inside the outer ring a veritable Mogadishu
Thanks
I know Crime Hills. Bail bond businesses, hair extensions soul food and graffiti. Oh yes, it is a delight.
I know you tend to be one of the more “centrist” posters here, but that comment really surprised me coming from you.
But they don’t have enough learing centers. /sarcasm
Its weird how so many Americans simply accept, without any pushback, the notion that majority-white neighborhoods are "bad" and that undefined "diversity" is good.
The post-moderns and neo-marxist and their "equity" propaganda have really done a number on American brains.
Well, well, well... You have to read the very LAST sentence of the article to understand the context.
The party line I heard is Prince got hooked on pain killers from injuries sustained from jumping off PA systems and such during live shows.
Never saw his live performances so I’m just speculating.
Sorry... wrong thread. I was referring to a kid in NC who got DQed after a race and lost his school the State Championship.
Good point. Lol.
They bumped Prince off. Once he rebelled against the Music Industry Masters, he was expendable.
Hmm, maybe they did the same to Tom Petty, come to think of it.
I have found a true safe Haven is on the water on my older cabin cruiser .....the demographics are comfortable.
When someone berates your community for lack of diversity which almost always a mean not enough black families in housing, run this thought experiment on them:
How many black families should we have in our community?
Blacks are 13% of population
With just around 50% traditional household formation their potential for home ownership may only be 7% of traditional housing.
Blacks prefer to be in neighborhoods that are about 50% black and 50% othet races.
The lib killer answer is that blacks are to few in population with low rates of intact families and prefer to live in high black areas. Statically speaking, if you live in a suburban neighbor hood an ideal ratio of blacks would be 8% or less than 1 house in 12. But blacks do no want to live like that.
Short answer there are not enough black families to go around for us all to be diverse.
I grew up in inner-city Philadelphia. I never realized the low-grade hyper-awareness and tensionI was constantly experiencing until I moved to one of the whitest states and cities in America. What a relief!
A high-trust community is wonderful to enjoy.
"X" is all I need!
It was the change in immigration laws that imported these replacement populations, it was legislation traceable to and following the 1960 election between Eisenhower’s veep and JFK, the author of the 1958 book, “A Nation of Immigrants”.
I had a friend who went to visit his dad in Salt Lake City. His dad was driving them around and there was going to be a parade later that evening and along the street, there were lawn chairs, and radios put out into the street and people‘s goods and food, coolers and things like that and so my friend looked at his dad and said, isn’t someone gonna steal that? And his dad looked at him like he was crazy and said why would they do that?
Whitney Houston
Yes! It was Ted Kennedy. The immigration act of 1965. He said, before it was passed.:
“The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”
“””Based on some of the comments in this thread, I can sense the Totenkopf tattoos peaking out under the covering ink.”””
2026 and you still haven’t had enough replacing of the Americans, your anti-Americanism and hatred of America is unfathomable.
