ET Still Works for the CIA
American Thinker ^ | 17 May, 2026 | J.B. Shurk

The Trump administration continues to release tranches of previously classified documents on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), the preferred term that includes traditional sightings of UFOs. “Traditional sightings” is a strange admission, don’t you think? Aliens and UFOs have been part of our national conversation for eighty years, long enough to constitute a “tradition,” even though the public has few answers for the questions this “tradition” brings.

Whether the U.S. government will ever provide real answers to unexplained events that have perplexed Americans for generations seems a secondary issue at this point. The more pressing question is this: If our government has been in possession of critical information about the nature of our reality, why should it be empowered to decide what we know? Or asked differently: Why should the government be permitted to keep secrets from us — especially when we are permitted to keep so few secrets from our government?

For decades, the U.S. military, FBI, and CIA dismissed reports of mysterious lights in the sky as hoaxes, misidentifications, or routine weather events. Discussion of the 1947 Roswell incident was regarded as a “conspiracy theory.” First-person encounters with non-human technology or even non-human, sentient beings were ridiculed as delusions.

Over the last fifteen years, though, a steady stream of former government employees — who describe themselves as “whistleblowers” — have testified both in public and under oath that they witnessed fantastic things that cannot be explained by existing technologies or accepted understandings of reality. Although some of these people do have verifiable credentials, records, and careers that suggest they were in positions to have witnessed the extraordinary things that they describe, nobody can know for sure whether they are telling the truth. Or said another way, nobody knows whether they are genuine “witnesses” to the existence of non-human intelligence

“Either the American government was maliciously lying yesterday, or it is maliciously lying today.”

Is there a day when the American government doesn’t maliciously lie?

This stuff is a distraction. To me, this only matters if the supposed aliens will impact me in some way. As of right now, whether aliens are here or not doesn’t matter because my life is the same either way.

As an aside, I find it humorous that the same people who chide me for believing in an invisible friend, (God), totally believe aliens are here.

“I find it humorous that the same people who chide me for believing in an invisible friend, (God), totally believe aliens are here.”

This is because more than a few people want to replace God with hyper-advanced extraterrestrials so the atheists can deny the existence of God yet still embrace the notion of superior beings.

I believe the ET hypothesis AND God. They are not mutually exclusive. Furthermore, I don’t regard any possible ETs as gods or demons. They would just be a people of a sort, also Created by God.

while not discounting the spiritual being theory, I strongly believe they are ours.

Why would ET land a tripod craft at Edwards AFB? (Gordo Cooper sighting)
USAF has admitted back in the swamp gas era that some m
ufo reports(blue book) were cover stories to not expose crashed projects, metal foil shreds from weather from mission balloons and other high technology where the public and our enemy spies should not have info on until the project is disclosed. It also makes a magnificent Squirrel! when real mysterious tech is being tested.

Any one with a convincing argument that aliens, if they exist, would want to expend the incredible resources to visit Earth? It is supremely egotistical to think they would.

Can you point anywhere in the Bible where it shows Jesus going to other worlds? Why didn’t he ever mention it?

Can you point out in the Bible where Jesus mentioned the Polynesian Islands? Ireland? North America?

Why didn’t he ever mention it?

I'd guess that it would have been off-topic. But, I am a bit hesitant to second guess God.

Do you suppose that something must have been mentioned in the Bible in order for it to exist? Do you believe in germs, electrons, or molecules? None of those were mentioned either? What necessitates ET being real just because they weren't mentioned in the Bible?

More importantly, why do you think your limited imagination is also God's limit? Can you honestly not grasp the "Greater Creation" of the entire cosmos?

Why didn’t he ever mention it?

As I pointed out, many things were not mentioned in the Bible. Why is that so? Well, the Bible brings us a means of Salvation and a rule book for clean living. It was not intended to be a Technical Manual of the Universe.

God gave us things to be discovered and things yet to be invented as a gift. We can pursue learning things on our own. The Nephilim gave us metal weapons of war; and, that is how they angered God. It was God's intention that we discover those crafts on our own, just as there are many other wonders available for our discovery and development. (Book of Enoch)

Now we are poised to learn that we aren't the only living Creation.

Go with the flow.

Here’s a thought you just prompted; if God can come to us for salvation as Christ, what’s to say he didn’t do the same thing for other self-sentient beings he created? Or do they even require it? What if some of those beings didn’t require salvation, never had to leave their Garden of Eden? There is still only one God in this scenario.
