Canadian rapper Drake surprised fans by releasing three new albums first thing Friday morning. The White House wasted no time appropriating art from one of those projects to promote the MAGA movement.
The trio of recordings are titled “Maid of Honour,” Habibti” and “Iceman.” The album cover of the last features a sparkling glove against a black backdrop. It was introduced with a social media post titled “ICEMAN.”
The White House’s X account responded by posting that same glove holding a diamond encrusted “MAGA” necklace. Its caption reads, “ICED OUT.”

43 songs in one day is a bit overboard if you ask me. Don’t even know where to start. Taylor Swift’s release was much more accessible. And it also had beef.
Also, regarding WH usage of it. Not sure how fitting given that “Ice” for Drake is emphasizing his Canadian identity in the face of all his naysayers in the US hip hop community. I’ve noticed him playing up the Canadian flag in more of his marketing as a sort of middle finger.
You do know he’s Jewish, right?
Yup! His mom! He gets his African-American side from his dad, who I believe is from the South. And fyi due to my age, I grew up watching Drake on the show Degrassi. So I know more than I should.
I prefer him as an actor to be honest.

I don’t consider a rapper singing a song. They’re not singers.
You do know talking over music existed a long time before “rap.”
A drake is a male duck. My old cat attacked one and then ate part of it. It made a lot of noise at first but it soon went quiet. I went out there and cleaned up the mess before the neighbors knew what all the fuss was about.
I thought a band my son recently made me aware of putting out 5 albums a year not uncommonly was overboard.
