"A gunman openly opens fire on the street, then falls, head split in two stopping the incident. Police reports suggest that the perp was hit with a common 30 caliber hunting round. Community leaders express outrage. To our astonishment, one cares."
Will the judge apologize at his arraignment?
This doesn’t happen in my neck of the woods.
I remember when they shut down memorial drive for roller bladers on Sunday. Times have changed.
Taken down by a cop and a marine carrying... Good thing that marine was there to help out, and that he was armed.
Give that guy probation and throw away the key!
"No one seems to care about the randomly shooting 'victim' was felled by a common hunting round, despite our pearl clutching reporting."
They shut down a section of Memorial Drive on summer Sundays after noon—not the whole thing.
It was not just for roller skating—also for walking, running, and food concessions. We used to go to church nearby, so got to enjoy the whole scene.
And of course it was very peaceful!
Yeah, I suspect the citizenry around here would have taken care of business before the police/sheriff’s deputies arrived.
A rifle is behind every door here. The sheriff takes at least an hour to stop by.
I suspect we’re more heavily populated, don’t think it would take more than 15 minutes for an LEO of some sort to show up. And likely much less.
But we’re also well armed, voted ~70% for Trump. In a state where something like 20% of the adult population had a weapons license, and that was before we got Constitutional carry. So people are packing, would have returned fire I suspect, if a similar situation presented itself.
