Elisabeth “Betty” Broderick, who in 1989 infamously murdered her ex-husband and his new bride as they slept in the bedroom of their California home, has died at 78 while serving a life sentence.
Broderick died on Friday at the California Institution for Women of natural causes, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirmed to People.

He's not alive to tell his side of the story.
Great acting by Meridith Baxter in The BB Story.
Now apply that standard to all those who have "earned their death" but haven't yet received it.
Following that logic, the wife chose poorly. The girlfriend also chose poorly.
Always a valuable word exercise, and useful for self-reflection.
A slight miscalculation on his part. His bet blew up in his face
He did not earn his death. She got mean and fat. So he found someone sexy and kind. And the psycho shot them as they slept. Burn in hell lady.
Of course it goes both ways, and would be equally wrong, but there are distinct differences, most importantly, it was 1989 which were completely different social norms. It seems all his life goals were met and she was a big part of that success, then he murdered HER, but she didn’t die until thirty-seven years later. Had I been on the jury, I would have voted to acquit due to temporary insanity caused by a user husband and greedy younger woman.
That chopped off hair tells you she was rough to be around.
That same sentence annoyed me as well. Why do some people want to be journalist when they have no control over their grammar?
Oh, she completely looks the part of a vengeful killer. Maybe he didn’t change the locks.
At least she killed the right people and right in their faces. So they knew they died by her hand. What often happens these days, that the (ex) wife kills the three children, then tries to off herself and fails/ Her logic being deprive ex of his children. That crazy ex-wife believes she will be heaven with her three children (innocent angels) she murdered.
I read that all four of her children were at her bedside when she died. From the media:
Betty Broderick’s son, Daniel Broderick, is sharing new details about the death of his mother, who died in prison at the age of 78 while serving a life sentence for killing her ex-husband and his new wife in 1989.
In a statement to TMZ, Daniel said that his mother had suffered a number of septic infections before her death. He said she also had a serious fall at the California Institution for Women, where she was in custody, approximately three weeks before her death, which resulted in broken ribs.
According to Daniel, Betty was on life support at the time of her death — which her son said occurred in an ICU off prison grounds — and unable to communicate.
He told the media outlet that Betty was surrounded by all four of her children when she died.
The charge was wrong, should have been voluntary manslaughter under extreme emotional distubance or temporary insanity. I guess they could ignore the premeditation part it seems.
I'm guessing for the same reasons people choose a career when they don't plan to work for excellence or their paycheck. Fortunately, there are careers wherein lives matter which require licensure and/or certification to ensure a minimum standard for competence. Unfortunately, journalism does not have a minimum standard for competence.
Exactly.
