How long until the government imposes a fee on email because that's why the USPS is broke? At least that will cut down on the daily avalanche of spam that I get in my inbox.

How long until the government imposes a fee on email because that's why the USPS is broke?

The USPS wanted a piece of that action way back at the beginning of teh web, with each American being assigned an official government e-mail address. That went nowhere for obvious reasons.

There is no way to charge people for e-mail because nothing stops you from getting an e-mail account with a server in Tuvalu or Russia, outside the reach of the USPS.
