They had every right to stop her from going into her purse when she tried to. Looks like she had a butterfly knife in her possession, which (I don’t know about that state) is probably legal, but it lends credence to the reason why they had reasonable cause to stop her from going in there.
Regardless of the reporting repeating ‘they did not verbally instruct her’, she was completely non-compliant and obstructing.
Granted, I feel like the officers should have tried to be more patient and deliberate with her, but on the other hand, they have the right to detain her under the circumstances.

Not strong enough. Whether there was a knife, a firearm, or just Kotex, the officers have to assume the worst (firearm) because if they don’t each and every time they will one day likely end up being shot or dead.

I felt they should have socked her in her obnoxious mouth. I thought they showed great restraint.
